Washington, D.C. is one of my favorite cities. It is rich in history and brimming over with monuments, museums of all kinds, churches, historic buildings, and more. The culture is amazing, as it is a very diverse place, with many unique shops. The shopping is also great and they have wonderful hotels and spas/hair salons. There are many great theatres to visit, including Ford's Theatre. The food is amazing and the choices practically endless, in what sort of cuisine. There are beautiful homes and a very active nightlife... there is always, always something to do, no matter what time of day or night. It's an all around great city.

I really like the Washington Monument. It is impressive in its height and history, looks very pretty on a sunny day and you can see the whole of Washington DC from each of its small windows at the top.

You could easily spend your entire trip just looking through all of these museums - there are many more than most people know about. Besides the big favorites like the Natural History Museum and the National Air and Space Museum, there are the Museum of African Art, the Design Museum, the Portrait Gallery, the Postal Museum, and more.
